But first from the beginning
Once you arrive at the Hallein Salt Mine, the mine train takes you deep into the mountain to the underground salt lake, where a multimedia show introduces you to the magical world of the mine.
From here, you follow in the historical footsteps of the Celts, who mined salt here in Hallein as early as 400 BC. Numerous attractions and adventures await you in the kilometer-long labyrinth of tunnels, which were carved into the mountain by hand by the miners of the past.

Note
Children aged 4 and over are permitted to enter the Salt Worlds. Sturdy shoes and warm clothing are highly recommended. With the Salzburg Card you receive a 20% discount on the admission ticket. Opening hours, prices, etc. can be found on the official Salzwelten website.

Location & arrival in Hallein
You can easily reach Hallein by train from Salzburg main station, by S-Bahn or by Postbus. From Hallein main station, take the bus to Bad Dürrnberg Salzbergwerk station. From here it is only a 2-minute walk to the Hallein Salt Mine. But you also only need about 25 minutes by car via the A1 and A10 – you will find free parking spaces at the entrance to the mine.
